Teesside Area Guide

Situated in the north east of England in Stockton-on-Tees, Teesside is a small, but historically well-established town. The surrounding area offers visitors a range of attractions from small market towns, large thriving cities, beautiful countryside and rugged coastline.

Tees Valley is at the heart of Captain Cook Country and his birthplace museum in Middlesbrough is an interesting visit. There are many other historic attractions and museums to explore including the Green Dragon Museum and Preston Hall museum in Stockton itself. A great day out for the family can be found in the Redcar area, the Corus Gala which has taken place every summer for over 25 years and includes music acts, sporting activities and a host of other entainment. For those who prefer the great outdoors, the North York Moors National Park is close-by.

Teesside is often associated as a chemical and industrial centre but over the years has developed into a modern area with a good nightlife. Locally and in the nearby towns of York, Newcastle and Durham there is a great choice of pubs and clubs and a diverse selection of restaurants to dine in suiting everyones tastes.

The recently renamed Durham Tees Valley International Airport serves the area offering a wide range of facilities with 30 airlines flying to 80 different destinations.
