Glasgow Area Guide

Glasgow is a lively Scottish city with history dating back as far as the 6th century. Today the city attracts huge numbers of visitors and has won titles such as European City of culture and titles for its sport and architecture.

For sports fans, Celtic football visitors centre charts the success of the football club and for an escape from the hustle and bustle, Glasgow is home to over 70 parks and open spaces to take a stroll in - keeping true to its name meaning 'dear green place'.

A visit to Glasgow must include a visit to perhaps the best shopping in the UK outside London, exploring endless high street stores, designer labels, and speciality outlets and taking a break for coffee in one of the many city cafes.

Visitors will be spoilt for choice when dining out and nightlife and entertainment is vibrant with a wide choice of pubs to sample the local whisky tipple and bars and clubs close by to continue the party into the night. The city is also regularly home to some fine festivals and special events.
