Directions
From Edinburgh:
Take the A720 city bypass and join the M8, following signs for Glasgow. Leave the motorway at junction 3 for Livingston. Take the fourth exit off the roundabout towards Broxburn. At the next roundabout, take the second exit towards Uphall. At the mini roundabout turn right. Houstoun House will be on your right.
From Glasgow:
Take the M8 towards Livingston and leave the motorway at junction 3. Take the fourth exit off the roundabout towards Broxburn. At the next roundabout, take the second exit towards Uphall. At the mini roundabout turn right. Houstoun House will be on your right.
From the Forth Road Bridge:
Follow the road from the bridge to the roundabout. Take the third exit off the roundabout. Follow the road through Newton until you come to the sign for the M9. Turn left, going under the motorway. Follow the road over the humpbacked bridge and through two sets of traffic lights. At the T-junction turn right, then take the first left. Follow the road through Ecclesmachan until you come to another T-junction, when you should turn right. Go straight on at the mini roundabout. Houstoun House will be on your left.
Transfers to and from the airport are available 24 hours a day and cost £2.50 per person. Transfers are free for children under 12.

The appetisingly ancient Tower Restaurant has an AA rosette. Dinner is served from 6.30pm to 10pm and breakfast is served from 7am to 10am. The dress code is smart casual - jeans and trainers are not allowed, and diners are asked to switch off their mobile phones.
The Vaulted Bar serves main meals, light bites, sandwiches, baguettes and salads, as well as hot and cold soft and alcoholic drinks. The bar is open from 11am to 11pm.
Room service is available 24 hours a day, but the full room service menu, which includes main meals, sandwiches, salads, desserts and drinks, is only available from 8am to 10pm. A limited menu is available between 10pm and 8am.
